We provide a platform for kids to voice their dreams
The Dream Flag Project® is a community of dreamers who span the world. We are inspired by these words of Langston Hughes:
Bring me all of your dreams,
Bring me all of your
That I may wrap them
In a blue cloud-cloth
Away from the too-rough fingers
Of the world.
Dreamers from White Mountain, Alaska; from Kliptown, South Africa; from Pensacola, Florida; from New York, New York; from the Khumjung, Nepal, and many more communities have connected their dreams to share with the world by making space in a crowded curriculum for their students' dreams to fly. They are pre-K students in the after-school program at a library in Honolulu, Hawaii; they are 9th graders at Olney Charter School in Philadelphia, Pennyslvania; they are 7th graders in Targoviste, Romania, they are 4th graders in an enrichment program in Gary, Indiana, and they can be your students this year.
Our community spans 34 states of the United States as well as 18 other countries. It includes students from pre-K to 12th grade (ages 3-19). It includes schools in rural settings, suburban settings, inner-city settings, and has students from public, parochial, and independent schools.
But these are only numbers. Each child's dream, connected to others, gains strength and importance. That is what has made the numbers grow. Each dream is the special and unique hope of one child, but connected together they become something that belongs to all of us.
We hope you'll join in and share our dreams today.
